April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player American, is among a select group of women who have won medals in several Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days, she'll be aiming to claim her third Olympic medal along with first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. Perhaps it is her last chance, at 39 years old. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that If the team is performing consistently or well they can earn a gold. Also, I am going to rely on a bit of luck. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents and sister. She was able to participate in many sports in Newport Harbor High School. As a pre-schooler she was a participant in basketball, indoor volleyball as well as running track. But she clearly was a cut above the rest in the latter sport. Her college biography states that she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker, as well as a setter during her volleyball career at high school. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her for volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they teamed up. She's won big tournaments twice with different partners. A couple of those is an icon in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 until 2013. Kessy's teammate Ross, who took home the title of world champion together with Kessy in 2009, was also a major force on international stage. In 2012, the duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold overtaking them. As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. The duo won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross began her collegiate career with the USC Trojans after graduation from high school. The Trojans were a few years away from when Ross made her debut on the sand and turned professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was amazing. The year 2000 was her freshman year. earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Year awards and be an All-American. She was also an integral player for helping the Trojans make their way to the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to be a second All-American. Over the course of the two years she played for the Trojans, she helped them to win two consecutive titles. She had established her place as a legend by winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross, who was a USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross did not get to see her daughter's climb to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross's mother died of breast carcinoma in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be near to her mother who passed away. Margie remains a source of inspiration, both off and on of the beach.
